Q&A with C.L. Hunter - Author of Your Soul Was Made For Mine

Updated: Nov 13, 2019

At the beginning of 2016 I reviewed the brand new Your Soul Was Made For Mine by C.L. Hunter who has agreed to do a pretty sweet interview with me.

Q - Your book Your Soul Was Made For Mine

1. Can you quickly, give us the title and genre of your book and a 30-word or less tagline:

C.L. Hunter: ‘Your Soul Was Made for Mine’ Contemporary Romance. When a tragic event spans the globe, they never imagine meeting face to face would change their lives forever. This is a story of loss, pain, romance, and suspense that will keep you captivated until the very end.“

2. Who is your intended audience and why should they read your book?

C.L. Hunter: “I believe this is a book for readers who love the mysteries of life and love. If you like/love the notion of happy-ever-after with twists and turns, then this is a book you would enjoy reading. In addition, I believe the book opens up windows in our on souls to help guide us in the right direction.“

3. How did you come up with the title of your book or series?

C.L. Hunter: "I was on vacation in Ireland and was truly gifted with the story from, let’s just say, fairies. The story started flowing through me and I just kept writing. This is a series and I’m currently working on the second book called, ‘My Soul Belongs to You.’ "

4. Tell us a little bit about your cover art. Who designed it? Why did you go with that particular image/artwork?

C.L. Hunter: “I originally went with a conservative book cover with Emmalyn sitting on her balcony in Hilton Head, SC and a castle in Ireland with water separating the two. After the book was released in Sept 2015 I had experts say that it wasn’t fitting to the contemporary romance theme, so I changed it to the suit and red dress with long legs to give it a sexier style. I must say that the first cover will forever be the story in my heart!“

5. Who is your favourite character from your book and why?

C.L. Hunter: “That is a tough one. I love Nolan. He has a way of pulling you into his world and who wouldn’t want to be in his world. He is sexy, Irish and very male!“

6. How about your least favourite character?  What makes them less appealing to you?

C.L. Hunter: “My least favourite character is Mack! He is a person I find lower than dog poo on a shoe!

7. If you could change ONE thing about your novel, what would it be?  Why?

C.L. Hunter: “It was originally 678 pages, because of editing and making it shorter for selling purposes I shortened it, but I love long books, so I would have kept it longer.

8. Give us an interesting fun fact or a few about your book or series:

C.L. Hunter: “Fun facts: Emmalyn and Nolan would fight for more time to tell their story while I was writing their side of each of their stories. Kate and Deacon are doing the same thing in the second book. And Nolan and Emmalyn are still wanting more talk time in book number two, but I’m fighting them off!“

9. What other books are similar to your own?  What makes them alike?

C.L. Hunter: “To be honest, I haven’t found a book like mine. Kirkus review said, “It compares to Fifty Shades.” I’m not sure how to take that except by saying, “I think it is it’s own unique experience and I hope people reading it will think the same thing.“

10. What can readers who enjoy your book do to help make it successful?

C.L. Hunter: “Well, first, read my book, then spread the word, then write REVIEWS!!!!  The more the book gets noticed is from awesome readers and bloggers like all of you.

11. If this book is part of a series, tell us a little about it?

C.L. Hunter: “Your Soul Was Made for Mine is the first book in the series; the second book is My Soul Belongs to You.“
